Use Web Search

Page Updated: 10 Nov 2025

Enable web search to let Crafty fetch fresh results and cite sources while chatting.

Steps

  1. Open Crafty AI.
  2. Click the globe button next to the input to toggle Web Search on (button appears pressed).
  3. Type a question that benefits from current information (e.g., “Latest news on vector databases”).
  4. Press Enter to send. Results stream into chat with referenced links.
  5. While searching, a compact Web Search status card shows progress. Citations appear as numbered [n] links you can click to open sources.
  6. Toggle the globe off to return to normal, model-only responses.

Tips

  • Be specific (add keywords, timeframe, and region) for better results.
  • Use follow-up questions to refine or compare sources.
  • For static topics (e.g., “what is SQL”), you can leave Web Search off.

Note: Web results appear inline with citations so you can evaluate sources quickly.
